Concord Kids

WE GROW KIDS

Our Concord Kids are our future, so we make sure they are fully engaged and secured in fun, age-appropriate Bible experiences during Kids Church and special events.

The Concord Kids Ministry includes ages 6 weeks - 5th Grade. We believe that kids matter to God. All leaders working in our kid’s ministry know that God loves each and every child, so they matter to us!

We also believe that children should have fun, so we use creativity, innovation, and adventure in reaching them and holding their attention. We believe that children are more receptive to the lessons when they are presented in a creative way.

  • When kids are having fun, they remain actively engaged
  • When they are actively engaged in the lesson, they are learning
  • When they are learning, they are growing
Ages and Activities

AGES AND ACTIVITIES

6 weeks - Kindergarten

The nursery nurtures infants through kindergartners. We are committed to providing a safe environment for children to be introduced to God and his love for them.

Babyland

For infants six weeks to 15 months.  We encourage parents to bring one diaper bag with labeled bottles and pacifiers. You can expect that your child will be checked and changed periodically throughout service.

Toddlers

Children 16-months to 35-months (that are not potty trained). We encourage parents to bring one diaper bag. With diapers, pull-ups, wipes & sippy cups labeled. You can also expect that your child will be checked and changed periodically and given a snack. Toddlers are introduced to the Small Group and Sunday School structure through age appropriate songs, activities, and play.

PreSchool – Kindergarten

All children Preschool – Kindergarten begin in Large Group Worship with age appropriate worship songs and then they are introduced to the monthly theme and/or creative element.  After Large Group time Preschool- Kindergarten will move to Small Group and Sunday School classrooms and experience the morning lesson.

PreSchool

For children between the ages of two and four who are potty trained.  In addition to the Large Group and Small Group time, Pre-Schoolers will also participate in an activity that helps them to remember the morning lesson.

Pre-K

For children who are in Pre-K at school or a Pre-K equivalent program.  In addition to Large Group and Small Group time, Pre-Kinders will focus on a memory verse and activity.

Kindergarten

For children in Kindergarten at their local school.   In addition to Large Group and Small Group time, Kinders leave with an activity sheet that helps them recall the morning’s lesson and memory verse.  Kinders will have a Graduation Promotion Ceremony in August where they will be given a Bible.

First - Fifth Grade

Children participate in age-appropriate worship service that consists of devotion, announcements, sermon, and offering.  The last half of the Sunday morning hour is dedicated to Small Group and Sunday School. Children are separated by grade in classes that teach biblical truths and establish their spiritual foundation. Children are promoted to the next grade in August after the Promotion Ceremony.

FIFTH graders

Fifth graders will graduate in August during the Promotion Ceremony and receive an Adolescent/Teen Bible to prepare them for the Student Ministry.

Concord Kids Curriculum

KIDS CURRICULUM

We partner with parents to train every child to use the Bible as their guide and final authority in everything.

Our curriculum for the K-5th grade is based on one of three basic but powerful truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52. Our curriculum is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus.

Kids of all ages learn:

  • I need to make a wise choice
  • I can trust God no matter what
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated
