Make a Difference Day

Overview:

On June 27, 2009 over 1000 volunteers spread out throughout the Oak Cliff community and provided acts of kindness and services to a variety of all segments of the community.  In one single day, volunteers reached out and touched the lives of individuals around us who are often overlooked such as seniors in nursing homes, AIDS victims, pregnant teens and the military.  Volunteers served the community by offering special services such as car maintainance services, car washing, assembling care packages for the military, minor home repair services, yard work and many more.

In addition to doing projects in the community, the Medical Ministry sponsored a Community Health Fair at the church from 10am-2pm in the Fellowship Hall. There was also FREE Car Washes and Car Maintenance in the Concord Church Parking Lot from 9am-1pm and a Financial Management 101 Seminar from 9am-12pm (1 for seniors and 1 for college students).

Thank you to all Concordians for your time and financial support in this year’s Make a Difference Day. You helped make the difference in the lives of the Oak Cliff community!
