Historical Background
This conference originated under the vision of the late Dr. E. K. Bailey. He was the founding pastor of Concord Church and E. K. Bailey Ministries, Inc. Dr. E. K. Bailey has been described as one of our nation's greatest preachers of the 20th century. His vision was to provide a forum that would champion expository preaching throughout the country and internationally based on 2 Timothy 4:3, "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."
This forum would serve as a training ground for preachers and pastors to receive the tools necessary for expository preaching and witness expository preaching practiced by leading practitioners. For the first thirteen years of its inception, it was sponsored by E. K. Bailey Ministries, Inc. This is the second year that the conference is being sponsored by Concord Church.
