Pastor Bryan L. Carter

 

Rev. Bryan L. Carter is the Senior Pastor at Concord Church of Dallas, TX. Concord, nestled in the southern sector of Dallas, TX, was established in 1974 and has a membership exceeding 6,000 members. Rev. Carter has served as Senior Pastor since October 2003. He succeeded the church's founder, the late Dr. E. K. Bailey.

Building on a great foundation, God has continued to nurture and develop Rev. Carter's leadership and the ministries of Concord by providing over 3,000 new members to the church in the last six years. Twenty percent of their growth has been new believers. God has given Rev. Carter a vibrant vision for Concord to be a church that makes a difference. Concord's mission statement is: 'To know God and to make him known to others'. Rev. Carter has received numerous honors for the impact of his leadership and Concord in the Dallas community from the City of Dallas, Texas Workforce Commission, Oakcliff Chamber of Commerce, Outreach Magazine and others. 

Pastor Bryan & Stephanie CarterRev. Carter has been privileged to serve Christian leaders in various capacities. His diverse teaching and preaching includes: E. K Bailey International Expository Preaching Conference, Southern Baptist Convention of Texas Pastors' Conference, Urban Alternative Church Development Conference, Dallas Theological Seminary chapel services, City of Dallas MLK Celebration Services, Mighty Men of Valor National Men's Conference, a featured guest on Family Life Today with Dr. Dennis Rainey, Moody Broadcasting, and has a daily devotional broadcast on KRNB 105.7 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He has been granted the opportunity to share God's Word with many churches and organizations locally and nationally. He also has ministered internationally in Jamaica and Kenya. In 2009, he was offered the opportunity to host an annual international conference on expository preaching in Dallas that serves over 700 attendees. Rev. Carter is an author of a 28-day devotional book/guide entitled, Great Expectations. He also contributed to the book, What Two White Men of God Learned from Black Men of God authored and co-authored by Dr. Joel Gregory and Dr. Bill Crouch.

Rev. Carter began his ministerial journey under his father's pastorate, the late Rev. Grover C. Carter, Jr. in his birthplace of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He entered the ministry in 1985 as a teenager. He joined the Concord staff in August 2000 as Associate Pastor of Discipleship (Christian Education) and was called to serve as Assistant Pastor in 2002.

Carter's passion for the community has led him to the serve on the present board affiliations: Harmony Community Development Corporation (President), CMBC Learning Center (President), Vision 360, African American Pastors Coalition, DBU – Oak Cliff Partnership Advisory Committee, Mentoring Brother to Brother, H.I.S. Bridgebuilders, as well as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Rev. Carter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Science) from Oklahoma State University (1998) and received a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary (2009).

Rev. Carter met his wife and college sweetheart, the former Stephanie Sadberry as she was matriculating at the University of Oklahoma. The Carter's have been married since June of 1998 and are the proud parents of two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kennedy, and one son, Carson.
