Pastor Bryan L. Carter
Rev. Bryan L. Carter is the Senior Pastor at Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. Concord nestled in the southern sector of Dallas, TX was established in 1975 and has a membership exceeding 5,000 members. Rev. Carter has served as Senior Pastor since October 2003 succeeding Concord's founding pastor, the late Dr. E. K. Bailey upon his demise. Dr. Bailey recommended Rev. Carter one year prior in August 2002 to the church as the Assistant Pastor and his successor.
Building on a great foundation, God has continued to nurture and develop Rev. Carter's leadership and the ministries of Concord by providing over 2,500 new members to the church in the last four years, one quarter of which are new believers. God has given Rev. Carter a vibrant vision for Concord to be a church that makes a difference. Concord passionately strives to exemplify the core values of Scripture, Excellence, Evangelism, Discipleship, Community, Creativity, Prayer, Worship and Teamwork. The purposeful structure of Concord is to optimize its member's spiritual growth, personal development and ministry service.
Rev. Carter joined the church staff in August 2000 as Associate Pastor of Discipleship after uniting with Concord in 1998. During his staff tenure, he provided leadership to various corporate initiatives and began his service as a church elder. Later as Assistant Pastor, his responsibilities included serving as chief operating officer, preaching partner to the Senior Pastor, providing leadership to the church staff and overseeing the daily operations of the church.
Rev. Carter began his ministerial journey under his father's pastorate, the late Rev. Grover C. Carter, Jr. in his birthplace of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He entered the gospel ministry in 1985 and eagerly served in numerous capacities.
Rev. Carter has been privileged to serve Christian leaders in various capacities. His diverse teaching and preaching includes: E. K Bailey Ministries International Expository Preaching Conference, Southern Baptist Convention of Texas Pastors' Conference in 2004, Urban Alternative Church Development Conference, Dallas Theological Seminary chapel services, City of Dallas MLK Celebration Services in 2006, Mighty Men of Valor National Men's Conference, and was a featured guest on Family Life Today with Dr. Dennis Rainey as well as Moody
Broadcasting. He has also been granted the opportunity to share God's Word with many churches and organizations locally and nationally.
Rev. Carter's passion for the community he serves has led him to have present board affiliations with E. K. Bailey Ministries (Vice President), African American Pastors Coalition of Dallas, TX (Director of Membership), Mentoring Brother to Brother, H.I.S. Bridgebuilders as well as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Rev. Carter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Science) from Oklahoma State University in 1998 and has a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Rev. Carter met his wife and college sweetheart, the former Stephanie Sadberry as she was matriculating at the University of Oklahoma. The Carter's have been married since June of 1998 and they are the proud parents of two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kennedy and one son, Carson.
