Metric “Big Met” Manning is a native of Dallas, Texas where he was born and raised by a loving family. He eventually moved to Desoto, Texas where he graduated from Desoto High School in 1996, and went on to pursue a college degree at his now alma mater Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. It was there where Metric placed his trust and faith in Jesus Christ.
By his 3rd year in college he was leading Bible studies and living a life of obedience to God. Upon graduating in December 2000 with a degree in Economics, Metric went to work for an internet company he helped start called Imaginuity with his late mentor, McKinley Hailey. During this time Metric realized that God was moving in his life, and after much prayer and consultation, Metric accepted his call into the ministry in February 2001.
In September of 2001, Metric resigned from his job and went to Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). During this season he met a young lady named Nicole Stepteau whom he joined in marriage on July 19, 2003. It was also at this time that Metric preached his first official sermon under the tutelage of the late great Pastor E.K. Bailey.
As a full-time student at DTS Metric completed his studies and received dual master degrees: a Masters of Christian Education (MACE) and a Masters of Biblical Studies (MABS) in 2005. Soon after, Metric came on board the Pastoral Staff of Concord Church to serve as the College & Young Adults Pastor (i.e. DireXion Ministry).
Metric and Nicole currently reside in Arlington, Texas and are the proud parents of Metric “Duce” Manning II.
