Rev. Bryan L. Carter, a native of Oklahoma City, OK, is the Senior Pastor at Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. Concord nestled in the South Oak Cliff community of Dallas, TX was established in 1974 and has a membership exceeding 3500 members. Rev. Carter has served as Senior Pastor since October 2003 succeeding Concord’s founding pastor the late Dr. E. K. Bailey upon his demise. Dr. Bailey recommended Rev. Carter one year prior in August 2002 to the church as the Assistant Pastor and his successor.

Rev. Carter has had the tremendous privilege of leading Concord on an incredible foundation established by the founding pastor during twenty eight years of service. Under Rev. Carter’s leadership, God has continued to grow and develop its ministries providing over 1000 new members to the church in the last two years, one quarter of which have been new believers. Rev. Carter has a vibrant vision for Concord to be a church that makes a difference by making disciples.

Rev. Carter joined the church staff in August 2000 as Associate Pastor of Discipleship after uniting with Concord in 1998. His responsibilities included maintaining a network of over 40 home Bible studies, 5 adult Sunday School classes, the Concord Center for Biblical Studies and the Singles Ministry. As Discipleship Pastor, it granted him the opportunity to serve over 800 of Concord’s members. Additionally, he provided leadership to various corporate initiatives and began his tenure as a church elder. Later as Assistant Pastor, his responsibilities included serving as chief operating officer, preaching partner to the Senior Pastor, providing leadership to the church staff and overseeing the daily operations of the church.

Rev. Carter began his ministerial journey under his father’s pastorate, the late Rev. Grover C. Carter, Jr. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He entered the gospel ministry in 1985 and eagerly served in numerous capacities.

Rev. Carter has been privileged to serve Christian leaders in various capacities. His diverse teaching and preaching includes: 2004 E. K Bailey Ministries International Expository Preaching Conference, 2004 Southern Baptist Convention of Texas Pastors’ Conference, 2005 Urban Alternative Church Development Conference, 2005 Dallas Theological Seminary chapel services and 2006 City of Dallas MLK Celebration Services. He has also been granted the opportunity to share God’s Word with many churches locally and nationally.

Rev. Carter’s present board affiliations include E. K. Bailey Ministries, Mentoring Brother to Brother, The Heads Up Foundation, and H.I.S. Bridgebuilders He is also a member of the African American Pastors Coalition of Dallas, TX as well as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Rev. Carter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Science) from Oklahoma State University in 1998. While attending Oklahoma State University, he served in various student leadership capacities and received numerous leadership and academic awards. He is currently a Masters of Theology student at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Rev. Carter met his wife and college sweetheart, the former Stephanie Sadberry as she was matriculating at the University of Oklahoma. The Carter’s have been married since June of 1998 and they are the proud parents of two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kennedy.
